The relationship between airway pressure and the inner diameter of the endotracheal tube and the outer diameter of the bronchoscope: The level of the airway pressure is related to the inner diameter of the endotracheal tube and the outer diameter of the bronchoscope. For the same diameter of endotracheal tube, airflow resistance is lower with the insertion of a finer model bronchoscope, resulting in lower airway pressure and PEEP effect.

Therefore, the thickest possible model of organ catheter or the thinnest possible model of bronchoscope should be selected when choosing.
